Individual users in China finally can use the qualified real “BlackBerry” (as contrasted to the smuggled cell phones) mobile phone. BlackBerry’s manufacturer RIM and Digital China have signed a distribution agreement, and Digital China in the future will serve as distributor of RIM to sell BlackBerry in the domestic market.
According to the distribution agreement, Digital China is responsible for the sales of BlackBerry mobile phones in China, either to groups or individuals. However, on the grounds of the confidentiality agreement, both sides did not disclose more details of cooperation such as launch time, channel, price, etc., but RIM official said they would co-publish more content of the cooperation with China Mobile later.
Blackberry mobile phone is a smart phone brand that shares equal reputation and publicity with Apple’s iPhone, currently having about 36 million users worldwide, including U.S. President Barack Obama. Earlier, China Mobile has introduced BlackBerry, but mostly aiming at the market for enterprise users, and currently domestic individual users mainly buy smuggled BlackBerry products.
